1. Very soon, I will have a post full of awesomeness to share! We ex-mentees (I really hate that "ex" part) are putting together our best take-away advice from the Nevada Mentorship Program! Check back in May for lots of fantastic FREE writing tips.
2. Yesterday, I played soccer for the only second time this year.
3. I scored three goals. Oh yes. I rock.
4. Today, my knee is swollen and clicking again which means...no more soccer and possible scoping/surgery.
5. Damn.
6. The architecture gig is super busy which leaves me little time for...
7. ...final revisions on my mentor piece. I'm about 75% finished, except that I keep making plot changes which...
8. ...result in further revision. I'm currently working on a version of my ms titled, "Kind of a Mess".
9. It's still not spring here in Boise. I hate that.
10. I'm trying to make plans for the LA SCBWI conference. If you're going, leave me a comment. I'm having trouble getting things come together and I need lots of motivation to make it all work.
11. Did I mention I had a birthday a couple weeks ago? I'm over thirty now. (I was over thirty before, but I like the way that sounds.)
What's going on at your house?

Sounds like fun times. I can't come to LA. My son starts 1st grade on Monday of the conference and Ellen's verse class was one of my biggest justification for coming.
ReplyDeleteMy husband just had a scope on his knee for a torn meniscus. It was a breeze. Wait until fall!
Nooo! I wanted to meet you for reals.
ReplyDeleteI had a scope for torn meniscus five years ago. It wasn't terrible, but I'd rather have a nice trip to Italy.
If you can't play soccer, you should get to go to LA in exchange for pain and suffering. I'm sure there is someone in Boise to take care of Xander. My own kids never much cared if we celebrated a birthday on the actual day or another day--almost better if not the actual day, because then they sort of got to have it twice. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteOkay, we figured it out. We're depending on an 80 year old grandmother for a few hours, but she's spry. And also, we have an alternate plan if things go wrong. So, Jensen Girls, I will see you in LA!!! Well and, you know, in Boise several times before then.
ReplyDeleteBummer on your knee, Amy! I'm so sorry you're going to miss out on playing for a while. But Yay for going to LA!
ReplyDeleteKind of a Mess? Is this a new ms?????
No new ms. It's G&V, which is just morphing a lot as I revise. I was working on a version and decided to try removing a chapter, which worked, but then I had to go back and make all the patches necessary for taking it out and at the end of the day it was...still kind of a mess. :)
ReplyDeleteYay on awesomeness and revisions, and boo for bad knees.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!!!
