NO MORE TWITTER!!
Now that I no longer have a contract to uphold, I can be much more selective in which social media platforms I use. So, bye-bye little twitter bird! You make me crazy.
In your nest, I see agents write vague posts about bad queries, and I wonder if they're mine. Or post about great partials or fulls that they're loving, and wonder if they're mine.
And then there are the (one or two) well-known children's lit personalities who make total asses of themselves on a regular basis which makes me sad. Just because you're a big famous editor/agent/writer/etc, doesn't mean you can be rude and insulting to others!
So adios, birdie. And good riddance.
I'll be at Facebook.

I don't really understand twitter...I read some of the agent/editor/writer tweets, but rarely reply. I saw an agent use the F word once....I crossed her off my list. I was bummed out because she is the agent of someone I really admire.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourself on FB...
The 'f' word doesn't bother me so much. It's the agents who make fun of their queriers. I don't mean the ones who send glitter with their cover letter. But some agents writers for a misplaced comma or a misspelled word. Anyway, I'm happy to be free!
ReplyDeleteI haven't succumbed to Twitter and your post convinces me yet again that it's not for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the mess with your former publisher and wish you every success with self-publishing.
Thanks Laurel. Some people love twitter, but for me, having subs out...it was just a big mind game. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm not on facebook! I use twitter to keep in touch with book bloggers (cheaper than sending texts...and owuldn't find them on my mobile), to let people know when I post reviews. I guess it just depends on what you use it for. I don't follow any of the chats that go on.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you still have your blog which is fab!
And, Nayuleska, I will always keep up with *you* somehow, some way. :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly who you are talking about! But, I can't break my twitter addiction.
ReplyDelete:) Steph, I'm not surprised. We probably follow all the same MG editors/agents. You don't need to break your addiction -- you're all done waiting on responses!! YAY!!
